Basket-Weave French Braids

Hello friends,

Last night I discovered a new channel on Youtube~ and links to many more hair tutorials!

Happy dance :-)

I tried one of the braids today~ the middle braid is a waterfall French braid but you drop hair on both sides. Then you make the side braids as regular French braids, but on one side the hair you add is actually from the center waterfall braid.  Instead of putting the bottom of my hair into a bun, I held the three braids together with ponytail holders, looped them up and under, and held them in place with a hairclip.  Here are some more pictures:

I hope you had a great week-end!  My sister created this pretty updo with an upside-down French braid and a high braided bun.  Some pictures taken in the morning sun:

Mohawk/Side French Braids Updo

Hello everybody!

I saw this picture on Pinterest of a girl with a mohawk-style poofy ponytail in the center and side French braids:

I liked the variation of having the mohawk braids on the side and a smooth center, so I tried this idea today with one change~ I made a swirly bun instead of a ponytail.  Here are some pictures taken in the morning sun:

Thanks for viewing! Happy Sunday :-)

Fishtail (or Herringbone) Braid Updo

Hello friends,

I love fishtail braids~ they are relatively easy but look so fancy!  The only downside is that they take longer to make than regular braids.  But if you have extra time, fishtail braids are very much worth the extra effort.  Here are some pictures of a hairstyle I tried a few days ago~ I made a French braid fishtail with the top section of my hair.  Then I put the bottom section in a ponytail and braided that hair into another fishtail braid.  I made a bun with my ponytail braid and then wrapped the first braid around the bun.

My hair length and ponytail circumference in inches

Several folks have asked me how long my hair is now, in inches.  I got out the tape measure to find out...here are my hair stats:

From the crown of my head to the bottom of my hemline, my hair is 61 inches long.

My ponytail measures 5 inches in circumference.

I was really surprised to find out these details!  I think eating peanut butter and using the Condition-Wash-Condition method must work wonders!  They certainly have for me.

Thank you, everyone, for all the views and comments on my different pages and posts.  I'm so glad we can stay connected and share a common interest~ hair!

*Princess* Updo

Hello everybody,

I'm not very good at braiding somebody else's hair, but today I tried to take over where my sister left off and together this is the hairstyle we created :-)

Some pictures~ it looks like a "princess updo" to me:
