Half-Updo French Braid

Hello friends,

This may be my last post for a week~ I am going on a trip to the outer islands tomorrow and won't be back home until next Saturday!  I can't wait to post pictures of my adventure (and hopefully some tropical hair photos as well :-)

A few days ago I tried this half-updo hairstyle~ first I made a diagonal part, and put the lower half of my hair into a ponytail.  Then I made a French braid with the upper half.  I braided the end of my French braid and my ponytail into a rope braid, and wrapped the rope braid into a bun which I held in place with a clip on one side.  A very easy yet pretty hair-do <3

My look for today~ Fun with Micro-French Braids

Maybe it's because I live in Micro-nesia, but I love hairstyles with micro-braids :-)  Today I did a few small French braids in different directions as accents to my basic low bun.

Thank you for looking!

My look for today~ Boho Fishtail Braid Hairstyle

Hi friends,

Yesterday I tried the popular zig-zag fishtail French braid that circles the internet regularly, but did not really like how it turned out because it was too loose.  I didn't bother to take pictures, and wouldn't you know, the ladies who saw my hairstyle later that day loved it!  So I tried again today, and even though I could not achieve the original zig-zag look, I kind of like the way this hairstyle turned out.  I guess you could call it my Boho fishtail braid hairstyle :-)

(Thanks to an extra helping pair of hands to keep out tangles while I was braiding, my hair stayed tangle-free the entire time, which almost never happens when making a fishtail braid!)

Stripe Braids

Hi everybody,

This hairstyle reminds me of stripes, so no surprise that I called it my "Stripe Hairstyle" :-)

I made small French braids on each side of my head, with the part starting at the top over one eye and going down at a slight angle to behind my ear.  After making the French braids, I parted the remaining center section of hair in two halves, a straight part down the center of my head.  I made a lace braid on each side of this center part, gathering hair from the inside closest to the center part.  The hair that was not added to the braid at all adds a smooth "stripe" effect between a French braid and a lace braid.  Pictures:

Micronesian Girl~ Micro-Star Braids

Hey friends!

I hope you are enjoying your day~ it is a beautiful summer day in Micronesia.  Of course, most days are beautiful summer days because we have summer weather all year long!

My little friend normally has tight, curly hair, but her older cousin made all these intricate braids with parted sections in an amazing star pattern.  I took the pictures in the evening so they aren't as clear as usual, but still very pretty.
