Micronesian Head Lei Braid

Hello friends,

This morning, I made a circle part at the crown of my head and put that hair into a ponytail.  Then I French-braided the loose hair and the hair from my ponytail, making a circle French braid.  I put my braid ends into a high bun, and held my hair up with two hair clips and bobby pins.  This afternoon a friend gave me a beautiful head lei made with fresh Micronesian flowers, and it matched the style of my braided updo perfectly!

4-strand Lace Braids

Hello everybody,

Today I tried a lace braid hairstyle, but with one modification - I used 4 pieces instead of 3 in my lace braids.  I like the way they turned out!  I'll definitely have to use this braid in other hair-do's.  Thank you so much for looking!  The flower pictures I took in my yard after hair pictures :-)

Micronesian Girl~ Rope Braid Updo

Hello everyone,

I've been away from home this week, literally on a remote island in the middle of the Pacific.  I'll post a few scenery pictures below, but first here are some cute pictures of my little Micronesian friend.  So pretty!  This hairstyle is based on a look in the excellent braid book A Different Approach to Hairbraiding by Raychel Potter.  As always, thank you for coming to see my pictures!
